Los Banos Memorial Hospital to have limited phone service Aug. 22 from 2-6 a.m.

Memorial Hospital Los Banos, a Sutter Health affiliate, said it will conduct a scheduled telephone upgrade on Aug. 23 from 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. During this downtime there will be limited phone service.

The hospital will use portable two-way radios and cellular phones, to ensure emergency communications by staff are possible.

One line, (209) 826-0591, will be available for emergency messages. This line will not have call waiting, and callers will receive a busy signal if in use. However, non-emergency incoming calls, as well as outgoing calls by patients, won’t be possible during this time period. In case of emergency, residents should call 911, as they would usually do.

During the downtime, family members may leave their phone number with the patient’s nurse if they wish to be notified of any need that may arise. If the patient needs to be reached, family and other visitors are encouraged to go to the hospital or call the patient on his cell phone.

Memorial Hospital Los Banos apologizes for any inconvenience this necessary telephone shutdown may cause.
