ATWATER — Buhach Colony and Golden Valley gave the scoreboard operator a workout on Friday night.
The two teams played deep into the night with the Thunder winning 90-48. Leon Miles led the way for the Thunder (4-0 Central California Conference, 9-0 overall) with four touchdowns.
Miles scored on a 53-yard pass from Nick Datray and a 1-yard run to help BC jump out to a 20-0 lead.
However, Golden Valley battled back.
Ridge Bertuccio threw seven touchdowns, hooking up with Bryant Brown for scores six times.
“It was crazy, way crazy,” Golden Valley coach Jake Messina said. “In a nutshell, we have devoted a lot of our resources and a lot of our time into our offense. We’ve devoted our best 11 guys to keep our quarterback upright and that leaves a lot of our young guys on defense.”
