LOS BANOS — The Los Banos tennis team swept all six singles matches to win their Sac-Joaquin Section playoff opener 7-2 over Rio Americano on Tuesday afternoon at Los Banos High.
Alexis Barcellos, Christina Soares, Nicole Marchese, Tiffany Liu, Taylor Mendez and Jacquelin Arretche all won for the Tigers, who improved to 20-0 this season.
The Tigers doubles teams of Antoinette Machado and Amanda Marchese also won their match.
Los Banos will host a quarterfinal match on Monday.
Armijo 7, Merced 2
FAIRFIELD — The Bears saw their season come to an end in the second round of the playoffs. Kari Johnson and Cindy Miao won their matches for Merced.
Le Grand 3, Gustine 0
LE GRAND — The Bulldogs wrapped up the regular season with a 25-8, 25-12, 25-13 win over the Redskins. Giuliana Marchini finished with 18 kills and three blocks. Marissa Marchini added 15 assists and three aces.
Le Grand will find out where it will open the playoffs up on Thursday.
Big Valley Christian 3, Stone Ridge Chr. 2
The Knights lost a five-set thriller to BVC, 25-16, 25-21, 23-25, 19-25, 15-9.
Maggie Jordan led Stone Ridge Christian with 10 kills, and Amber Fletcher finished with 19 assists.
