MODESTO -- Le Grand is proving to be a tough out in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 5 volleyball playoffs.
The No. 11 Bulldogs rallied from 2-1 down to knock off a higher-seeded team for the second time in three days.
It was No. 3 Bradshaw Christian feeling the LG wrath in a 16-25, 25-18, 15-25, 25-17, 15-10 Bulldogs victory on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs will travel to Sacramento to take on No. 7 Bradshaw Christian -- who upset No. 2 Woodland Christian earlier in the night -- in the semifinals next Tuesday.
The tandem of Savanna Barnett (team-high 16 kills, three blocks and an ace) and Giuliana Marchini (12 kills and four blocks) led the resurgence for the Bulldogs (15-5).
"It was a nerve-racking night because the other team had some big hitters," LG head coach Gia Priddell said. "We had to make some defensive adjustments.
"Savanna and Giuliana started getting a lot of pieces of balls at the net, making it easier for our defense to get a good dig."
