Haiti earthquake documentary rebroadcast on WPBT Channel 2

In commemoration of the second anniversary of the hemisphere’s most catastrophic earthquake, WPBT Channel 2 tonight will rebroadcast an Emmy Award-winning documentary that captured the mood of Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010.

Nou Bouke: Haiti’s Past, Present and Future will air at 9 p.m. Thursday.

A sequel to the film, Nou Bouke: Two years later, will air at noon on WPBT2 on Sunday, Feb. 12 and again on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m.

Nou Bouke (We’re Tired), which won a regional Emmy in December, was a project of The Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald in association with WPBT2, South Florida’s local PBS station.

Miami independent filmmaker Joe Cardona directed the documentary, which was narrated by Haitian author Edwidge Danticat and aired nationally on PBS.
