Arrest made after stolen items found

On Saturday, the Merced County Sheriff's Department arrested Andrew Roggero, 40, in connection with a theft reported Friday morning at a business located on Highway 59 and Washington Road in El Nido.

During an investigation, deputies uncovered stolen property at a barn near Roggero's home, located on the 900 block of East Roosevelt Road. The Sheriff's Department said it found additional evidence inside the residence.

Roggero was picked up by law enforcement officers while allegedly hiding at his father's house on the 2000 block of Gettysburg Avenue in Merced. Roggero was booked for possession of stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia and parole violation.

Several stolen items have yet to be recovered, including a $15,000 laser leveler. Anyone with information on the case, or items purchased from Roggero, can contact the Merced County Sheriff's Department at (209) 385-7472.
