SONORA -- The Blue Devils' first Central Valley Conference win continued to prove elusive as MC missed a chance to take the lead with less than 10 seconds remaining in a road loss to Columbia.
Edgar Lopez paced MC (0-10 CVC, 1-20) with 17 points, while Josh Tatum and Frank Burns each added 11 points and eight rebounds.

CYPRESS -- SoCal No. 5 Cypress rallied for single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to hand NorCal No. 6 Merced College its first loss of the season.
Ricky Diaz had two hits and drove in two, while C.J. DeDeaux and Derrick Velazquez each doubled in a run for the Blue Devils (4-1).
