'Jimi Hendrix of the harp' to perform March 1 at Turlock Community Theatre

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Grammy-nominated harpist Deborah Henson-Conant, creator of the electric harness-harp and the reinvention of that instrument, will perform at the Turlock Community Theatre on Thursday, March 1, at 7:30pm. Season tickets to the Turlock Community Concerts’ five-concert series are $60/adults, $70/one-adult family, and $130/two-adult family. Season subscription includes reciprocal tickets at eight affiliated associations in the region. Single tickets for the event are $25, $15/students. For tickets or further information, please visit www.turlockconcert.org or by telephone call Linda Posegate at 209-668-1456 or Sue Bonander at 209-668-3627.

According to a news release, NPR’s Scott Simon called her “the talented love-child of André Previn and Lucille Ball” – blurring the line between music and theatre. Every concert is a kaleidoscope of blues, Latin, flamenco, jazz and Celtic music, the news release continued, and it quoted Steve Vai, another musician as calling her "the Jimi Hendrix of the harp."
