Filmmaker on hand during presentation at UC Merced

Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker Mimi Chakarova will be present Friday during a showing of her film "The Price of Sex" at UC Merced.

The film is being presented as part of the school's Sixth Annual Human Rights Film Series. The film chronicles the struggles of young Eastern European women drawn into a world of sex trafficking and abuse, according to a news release.

Admission is free. The 73-minute film will be presented at 7 p.m. inside Room 208 of the school's classroom and office building at 5200 Lake Road. For more information, contact
