MARIPOSA -- The Mariposa County Republican Central Committee will host its Election Year Picnic on Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Mariposa County Park Lions Pavilion. There will be a barbecue, raffle and an opportunity to speak with the candidates running for office, as well as with elected officials who are now representing Mariposa. LIVINGSTON -- The Livingston Recreation Department will offer a Youth Soccer League, registration on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at city hall, 1416 C St. The fee is $55 and includes a jersey, soccer ball and a trophy. ATWATER -- The Atwater Falcon Band Booster Club will host a rummage sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the lawn along 2201 Fruitland Ave.
The group also will have a car wash Saturday and Aug. 11 in the parking lot at Atwater High School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. They are asking for $5 donations. All proceeds are used to pay their way to Hawaii for a competition.
