Vehicles collide near Patterson intersection

PATTERSON -- Authorities responded to a crash near Sycamore and Walnut avenues in which a truck reportedly hauling sulfur caught fire.

The crash occurred about 2:20 p.m., just east of town and north of East Las Palmas Avenue. Authorities said it was a hazardous-materials situation, and additional resources were called to the scene.

The California Highway Patrol reported that two vehicles were involved, and that one flipped and was on its roof. No injuries were reported.
