LIVINGSTON -- A head-on accident on Highway 99 near the Hammatt Avenue exit killed one person Sunday evening and severely injured at least three others, according to preliminary information from the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a GMC pickup truck was driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Highway 99 at about 5:30 p.m. when the vehicle collided head-on with another truck, said Ed Macias, community outreach officer for the CHP.
It's possible that the driver of the GMC could have been under the influence, Macias noted.
