Probation compliance check leads to arrests

A 34-year-old man was shocked with a Taser by a Los Banos police officer Saturday night after he tried to flee during a probation compliance check, police reported.

The incident was reported just before 11 p.m. when Sgt. Jason Hedden attempted to conduct a probation compliance check on 34-year-old Juan Bueno of Los Banos. Police said Bueno was parked in the 2200 Block of Park View Drive.

Bueno ran from the officer, who used his Taser to subdue him. During the foot chase, Bueno tried to get rid of a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, police said.

After Bueno's arrest, police say officers searched his car and found more suspected methamphetamine. Bueno's passengers, 25-year-old Priscilla Mary Saiz, 23-year-old Apolonio Paul Sanchez, and 34-year-old Daniel Jimenez were placed under arrest on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.

Bueno was booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance for sale, possessing drug paraphernalia and attempting to destroy or conceal evidence. Bueno's being held in lieu of $20,000 bail.
