Two accused of having drugs in car in Livingston

LIVINGSTON -- Two people were arrested on suspicion of drug possession by Livingston police Tuesday after officers reported finding them seated in a car with 1.5 ounces of methamphetamine.

The incident was reported at 10:45 a.m. in the 400 block of Franci Street. Ofelia Dominguez, 27, was in the car with the driver, 38-year-old Romeo Ramirez Garcia, according to Sgt. Ray Fong.

Dominguez was wanted on a felony warrant and was ordered to exit the car. When she got out of the vehicle, police spotted two plastic bags of methamphetamine inside, Fong said. Police also found scales and packaging materials in the vehicle, he said.

Both suspects were booked into the Merced County Jail.

Livingston police are asking anyone with information about drug sales in the community to call (209) 394-7916, or the department's automated tipline at (209) 394-3640. Tips are kept confidential and you can remain anonymous.
