A 29-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday night after being stabbed in South Merced, near 11th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
Police responded to the scene at 10:53 p.m., near the Bi-Rite Liquor Store, after receiving a call about a disturbance. The victim had been stabbed several times, but refused to share information with police, according to Lt. Bimley West.
The victim told police he had previous gang affiliations, but wouldn't elaborate about the disturbance or the circumstances leading up to the stabbing.
