Around Town: Summer Family Health Festival

ATWATER -- The Castle Family Health Center will hold its fifth annual Summer Family Health Festival on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3605 Hospital Road. There will be free medical screenings, vision, hearing, diabetes, blood pressure and breast exams, and sports physicals will be available for a small fee. Merced Bicycle Coalition

The Merced Bicycle Coalition will hold a Basic Bicycle Fix-It Clinic on Aug. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Mercy Drive across from the hospital. Work on your own bike or on a demo bike; tools will be provided.

Public invited to meeting of Mental Health Board

The Mental Health Board will meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m., 1137 B St. The public is invited to attend this meeting. The Mental Health Service Act Annual Report will be discussed.

A fun summer evening from Hinds Hospice

The Merced Office of Hinds Hospice will hold its annual fundraiser, A Fun Summer Evening on Aug. 25 at the Fish and Game Building at Lake Yosemite. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a no-host bar, dinner catered by DeAngelo's, a live, silent and dessert auction and music by John Albano and Lori Walsh.
