Around Town: Summer Family Health Festival

ATWATER -- The Castle Family Health Center will hold its fifth annual Summer Family Health Festival on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 3605 Hospital Road. There will be free medical screenings, vision, hearing, diabetes, blood pressure and breast exams, and sports physicals will be available for a small fee. Merced Bicycle Coalition

The Merced Bicycle Coalition will hold a Basic Bicycle Fix-It Clinic on Aug. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Mercy Drive across from the hospital. Work on your own bike or on a demo bike; tools will be provided.

Merced City Planning Commission meeting

Social dance class by Office of Recreation

Public invited to meeting of Mental Health Board

The Mental Health Board will meet on Tuesday at 4 p.m., 1137 B St. The public is invited to attend this meeting. The Mental Health Service Act Annual Report will be discussed.

A fun summer evening from Hinds Hospice

The Merced Office of Hinds Hospice will hold its annual fundraiser, A Fun Summer Evening on Aug. 25 at the Fish and Game Building at Lake Yosemite. Festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. with a no-host bar, dinner catered by DeAngelo's, a live, silent and dessert auction and music by John Albano and Lori Walsh. Church Women United salad potluck, program

The United Methodist Church Women will hold a Salad Potluck and Program on Sept. 7 at 11:30 a.m. at the church, 899 Yosemite Park Way. The speaker will be Spence Boelter, executive director of Young Life Merced County. A freewill offering will be taken. For more information, call (209) 722-6101.
