Ron Loewe: A big dilemma

Atwater faces a bigger dilemma than many of its citizens may realize.

We have two council members, Joe Rivero and Gary Frago, seeking re-election. It was on their watch that our financial problems escalated. Neither of them has followed the lead of Mayor Faul and Councilman Mooneyham to relinquish their benefit package. This is a prime example of extreme hubris on both their parts.

In addition, I am certain many voters still remember the "Frago fiasco" that cost the city a good deal of money for sensitivity training when Frago emailed racist jokes using the city equipment.

Do they really deserve a second chance to take us further down the path to bankruptcy?

Hopefully there will be enough of us on election day who do remember, and will take steps to bring about the necessary changes to the Atwater City Council.
