Highway project will divert traffic

Sun-Star staff

Santa Fe Avenue will be closed from east of McKee Avenue to just west of Highway 140 from 8 a.m. today through 6 a.m. Tuesday, according to the California Department of Transportation.

There will be a signed detour in place and motorists should expect delays.

The work is part of the $22.8 million Highway 140 Bradley Overhead widening project, which began last year, according to the department.

The department will be performing one-way traffic control on Highway 140 from Tower Drive to the Merced-Mariposa county line for shoulder work today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The work will continue through Friday.

Additionally, there will be road construction and bridge work on Highway 99 from Mariposa Creek to West Atwater Overhead near Atwater Boulevard.
