Food 4 Less gets the award for its shopping carts. Walk or ride the Rascal Creek Bike Trail and see their shopping carts in the creek. They are there for weeks and years. Not exactly the natural landscape we should expect to see. It adds so much to what is called neglect.
Speaking of neglect, there is a city ordinance that says trash containers should not be visible from the street when stored. They are a strange décor for the front of a house. And we continue to let leaf blowers blow dust around Merced even though our air is dirty enough.
Maybe people would feel a little better if they didn't add to littering in Merced. Try to avoid the Omar Award. Seems like we could all contribute more to "I love Merced."
