Livingston shooting report turns into arrests of 2 for meth

- rgiwargis@mercedsunstar.com

LIVINGSTON -- Two juveniles were arrested in Livingston on Thursday for possession of meth, resisting officers and probation violations, according to Sgt. Ray Fong of the Livingston Police Department.

There were no injuries, police said, and no firearms were found.

Officers were dispatched to Eighth and F streets on a call of shots fired about 3:30 p.m. They found two juveniles who immediately started running away from the officers, police said.

Witnesses said a grey sedan was driving east on F street toward Eighth and that a man was walking beside the car on the sidewalk. The man made a gesture toward the car, then ran to the intersection of Eighth and F street, where a group of men was standing, witnesses said.

One of the men in the group drew a handgun and began shooting at the car, witnesses said.

The vehicle and occupants have not been located, police said. Officers found several shell casings from a handgun near the intersection.

Anyone with information should call the Livingston Police Department at (209) 394-7916 or the anonymous tip line at (209) 394-3640.
