ROBINSON: Directing anger the wrong way

It has come to my attention that Atwater's new Interim City Manager, Frank Pietro, has been the victim of home and auto vandalizing after last week's City Council meeting. I know there are a lot of angry people due to the layoffs, but they are directing their anger in the wrong direction.

The City Council is to blame for this whole mess; they allowed this to happen. Pietro got this pile of you-know-what dumped in his lap and now he has to be the bad guy, the Grim Reaper. It is unfair, out of line and just wrong to take it out on him.

He grew up in this town, and his parents had a business in this town for many years. Do you really think this is easy for him? If you have not met him, then don't be quick to judge him. It is killing him to see this happen to a city he cares so much about. He had to ask his own officers to take a huge pay cut. Do you think that was easy?

None of this is easy and there are no easy answers. Many people are suffering due to the incompetence of our mayor, Joan Faul, and the three stooges, Gary Frago, Jeff and Joe Rivero. People, if you want to blame someone, then please, at least put the blame on the right people.
