Walk for Riley brothers

The fourth annual Riley Brothers Victim's Visual Walk will take place at noon on Saturday at the Food Maxx parking lot, 1300 W. Olive Ave. Everyone is invited to participate.

Community cleanup

Golden Valley Health Centers and residents of south Merced will hold a community cleanup day from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. They will meet at the playground next to the clinic on Fourth and N streets.Call (209) 385-5490 or e-mail

Elks Club breakfast

The Elks Club will hold its monthly breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Elks Park. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and younger. The meal is eggs, pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee.

Genealogy meeting

The Merced County Genealogical Society will meet at noon Oct. 20 at the Merced County Library, 2100 O St. Barbara Washburn will talk about mailing lists and message boards, what they are and how to access and use them. The society's meetings are open to the public.

Wild West Hoedown

LOS BANOS -- Court Appointed Special Advocates of Merced County will hold its second annual Wild West Hoedown at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at 13816 W. Bisignani Road. Tickets are $35 each. All proceeds will be used to recruit and train more CASA advocates so that every child will have a CASA volunteer working with him or her. Call (209) 722-2272.

Youth soccer challenge

LIVINGSTON -- Boys and girls ages 10-14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge at 1 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Livingston Sports Complex at Walnut Avenue and Dwight Way. Family Wellness to meet

The Family Wellness Council will meet at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 25 at the Merced Civic Center. "No More Silence," a video on child sexual abuse, will be shown. Call (209) 381-5980.

Oktoberfest celebration

JMJ Maternity Homes will hold an Oktoberfest Oct. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Patrick's Hall. Tickets are $20 per person. There will be a live dessert auction. Proceeds will go to support Mary's Mantle Maternity Home, which provides pregnant women in crisis a safe, nurturing, educational and Christian environment. Call (209) 769-7092.

Annual Holiday Chorus
