Kids' Miracle Walk planned at UC Merced

The 2nd annual Children's Miracle Walk will take place Sunday with check-in time at 9:30 a.m. and the walk at 10 a.m. at UC Merced, 5200 N. Lake Road. There will be a health fair, kids' center, food, live entertainment and more. The event is open to the community. Parking is free. Help us save lives, one step at a time. Lions Club Breakfast

LIVINGSTON -- The Livingston Lions Club will host its omelet breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the VFW Hall, 1605 7th St. Tickets are $7 each. For information, call (209) 394-2212.

Merced bicycle fest

Rabobank will host its 5th year Pedal Merced Family Bicycle Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Merced High School. For information, call (209) 383-4242 or go to PedalMerced.org.

Mature driver class

Merced College Noncredit Office is offering a mature driver improvement class for residents 55 and over from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Merced Tri-College Center. This is a free class, and most insurance companies give a discount upon completion of this class. Call (209) 381-6540 for more information or to enroll in the class.

Lights On After School

The 11th annual Lights On After School Festival will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in downtown Merced. There will be many activities, performances, a Halloween costume contest and a special showing of the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory for $3 per person to the first 1,000 people. Hoover marching band

SANTA CRUZ -- The Hoover Middle School's Marching Band will compete in the 42nd annual Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Band Review at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 20. For more information go to www.beachboardwalk. com/bandreview.

Menudo served weekly

Club Mercedes will serve menudo every Sunday starting at 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. or when the menudo runs out. Cost is $8 for a large bowl and includes tortillas, coffee and Mexican pastry. Many beverages are available for an extra cost. Dine in or take-out. Call (209) 383-9906.
