I just want to let everyone know that there are still truly good people in Merced. Long story short -- I was vacuuming the sidewalk along my house on Donna Drive on Saturday and had just finished. I was putting away the extension cord and as I was walking back to get the vacuum, a woman pulled up, wanting to make sure my wet-dry vacuum wouldn't get stolen.
I thanked her and she said a quick welcome and went on her way. As I thought more about the encounter, I realized you just don't see that anymore. For that, I think she deserves more. She went out of her way and was a truly nice person.
I like having an ally in the neighborhood like her that is willing to look out for others.
