MERCED -- No injuries were reported during an armed robbery at a McDonald's restaurant Saturday night -- the third robbery reported at a Merced McDonald's in two months.
The incident was reported about 8:45 p.m. at the 1060 W. 13th St. restaurant, according to Merced police Lt. Bimley West. No suspects are in custody.
The restaurant manager told police an unidentified man entered the business and pointed a handgun at employees, demanding money from the safe. The employees complied with the robber's demands, and he fled the scene.
Thus far, police have described the robber only as being in his early to mid-20s.
The West 13th Street McDonald's also was robbed Oct. 14. In that case, the robber was wearing a dark blue hooded sweat shirt, gloves and a scarf over his face.
On Sept. 11, a gunman robbed a McDonald's in Merced at 1821 Motel Drive. In that case, the robber was described as an Asian male wearing a scarf and dark clothing.
