LEONEL VILLARREAL: Hicks for Merced College Area 3

I would like to introduce Wayne Hicks as the candidate to vote for as Area 3 representative to the Merced College Board of Trustees.

Hicks is employed at Merced College as an instructional support technician. In this position, he has familiarized himself with leadership roles and has well represented a varied group of constituents. Some of these volunteer roles include serving on the ACTRA Board of Directors and as CSEA chief job steward.

In addition, Hicks has extensive experience with state educational codes, contract language interpretation and union negotiations.

An immediate goal of Hicks' is to focus on the Board's responsibilities in meeting the recommendations of the Accreditation Commission. He is endorsed by current board members Les McCabe and Lew Braxton and by CSEA Chapter 274. Hicks has been a Merced resident for 50 years and has lived in Area 3 for 28 years.

Hicks will bring a working knowledge to the governing board of directors by providing a balanced oversight of Merced Community College's best interests. I ask for your vote for Wayne Hicks on Tuesday.
