John Pedrozo has worked hard to serve Merced County and District 1, and is clearly an approachable and trustworthy person.
His priorities of public safety, economic development, good-paying jobs, and education are all right for Merced County.
Please do not be fooled by misstatements and red herrings that enter the campaign in the last, desperate days. Please see it for what it is.

For example, John strongly supports the Wal-Mart project. It is a major victory in job creation for our county, a county where unemployment tops 40 percent in some areas.
Does Merced County have anything to do with it? No.
The Wal-Mart project was acted upon by the Merced City Council because that is where the site is located. All of the plans, zoning and the environmental impact are the responsibility of the Merced council.
If I were running for a seat on the Board of Supervisors, I think I would know that. John's opponent said he did nothing. What was he supposed to do?
