Patrick Colvin: 'Rocky Horror' a hit

I have been taking my boys to the Playhouse Merced for years. We have enjoyed many plays there, mainly family-oriented.

Well I took my 16-year-old this last Sunday to watch a play I never thought would be in Merced, "The Rocky Horror Show." We both loved it and had "The Time Warp" stuck in our heads on the way home.

The cast did a great job. Much respect for Chris Volkerts as Frank-n-Furter, for being able to walk -- let alone dance -- in high heels.

My favorite, of course, was Corey Strauss as Riff-Raff. He was awesome.

Playhouse Merced has a great season coming up and I recommend everyone to take a look and support the arts in our area.
