The deadline to apply to have a float in the Merced Hometown Christmas Parade has been extended to Nov. 24.
The 20/30 Club of Merced will host the 18th annual Christmas parade Dec. 1.
Float applications are available on the city of Merced Web site, as well as the 20/30 club's Web site at www.merced2030. com/christmasparade.
Vendor applications are also available for craft and food vendors, as well as exhibitors, on the 20/30 club Web site.
Festivities start downtown at 11 a.m., with craft and food vendors as well as local singing and dance performances. The parade starts at 3 p.m. on Main Street.
Following the parade, the lighting of the MERCO Credit Union Christmas tree will be held in Bob Hart Square. There will be free hot chocolate and cookies, sponsored by the Merced Breakfast Lions Club.
