Contrary to what was stated in the Sun-Star editorial following the election, the final election day tally revealed that Merced voters wisely supported the re-election of President Obama, Proposition 30 and most Democratic candidates for elective office ... a pleasant surprise. Republican Party leaders should take heed from these results and reject the radical ultra-conservative Tea Party agenda.
