Pat Trieweiler: Washington, 'get to work to get America back to work'

The national debt is currently more than $16 trillion.

Twelve million Americans are unemployed and more than 8 million are underemployed.

Washington must address the debt and no longer kick the can down the road to future generations.

Continuing to ignore the debt and wasteful spending, yet claiming to have any concern for those looking for jobs, is a lie.

Presenting a fiscally responsible and balanced budget would create an economic environment for small businesses to create jobs.

This would show a genuine concern for the well being of those individuals looking for full time employment.

As the fiscal cliff approaches, the time for empty promises over. The time for fiscally responsible policies to trim the national debt and big government is now.

Get to work to get America back to work.
