Homeless shelter asks for donors, volunteers

November 26, 2012

The D Street Homeless Shelter is in need of food because the cold weather brings in many more people. The shelter serves an evening meal to a group that can reach 65 people on any given night. Prepared meals are needed. Volunteers are being sought to come and fix meals. For more information, call (209) 704-4384.

If you would like to have your event announced in the Around Town column, send your information to Connie Hodges at least 10 days prior to the event, at chodges@mercedsunstar.com. Items run according to space available.

Merced Sun-Star is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
