— Police are searching for a man who they say forced his way into a home in the 2100 block of Bellevue Road and stole a laptop computer and gaming system, according to Lt. Sam Joseph.

The 44-year-old victim told police that a Latino man in his early 20s knocked on her door about 3 p.m. on Thursday. As she opened it, the man, armed with a gun, pushed his way in, grabbed her property and ran outside, police reported.

Joseph said the man fled the area on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to find the robber.

The victim was not hurt, police said.

She described the man as being either 22 or 23 years old and wearing a white hooded sweat shirt, black beanie and blue jeans.

The type or color of the handgun used during the home invasion robbery is unknown, police said.

Joseph added that residents should always confirm who is at the door prior to opening it, and notify police if there's someone suspicious knocking.
