Atwater toy drive, parade set for Saturday

ATWATER -- The 11th annual Kops and Firefighters for Kids Toy Drive and Parade is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The parade starts at the corner of Winton Way and Bellevue Road in Atwater and ends at Rizzonelli's Italian Restaurant, according to a news release from parade organizers.

Parade participants include Valve Burners, Yosemite Corvette Club, Merced Speedway Club, Valley Vintage Car Club, the C-10 Truck Club of Atwater and several others.

All groups will bring toys for kids in need. A decorated, live Christmas tree will also be given to a family in need.

Santa Claus will be at the event. Those who want a picture with Santa sitting on top of a firetruck should bring an unwrapped gift to the event in exchange for the photo.
