FINAL Kings 91, Magic 82
The Kings went small and came up big.
Isaiah Thomas scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Kings leaned heavily on an undersized second unit to beat the Magic in front of a crowd of 16,305 at Sleep Train Arena and hit the road on a winning streak.
The Kings played much of the fourth quarter with a lineup of Thomas, Jimmer Fredette, Marcus Thornton, Chuck Hayes and rookie Thomas Robinson pushing the tempo.
Fredette's three-pointer with 8:29 left gave the Kings a 69-68 lead, which they stretched to nine before holding the Magic off down the stretch. Fredette finished with 15 points and four rebounds. Robinson missed all five of his shots and finished with one point, but made an imprint with hustle plays, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
DeMarcus Cousins had 17 points and a game-high 14 rebounds and Jason Thompson added 12 points and six rebounds.
Glen Davis led the Magic with 20 points and 11 rebounds, but fouled out late in the fourth quarter after beginning the period with one foul. Arron Afflalo had 18 points and Jameer Nelson had 17 for the Magic.
