Efrain Rojas: Don't cancel a hit

When ABC cancelled George Lopez's sitcom, it killed an established hit to take a chance on a show that could at best only hope to match the ratings of the show it replaced.

Who in their right mind would place a wager guaranteed not to win, with only a slim chance of breaking even?

Merced County is making the same bet if it is compelled to award a service contract to an outside ambulance service provider.

The best case scenario is we get the same service for the same money.

If that is what winning looks like, then consider the better than even chances of delayed response resulting in unnecessary deaths in Merced County.
