SHELLY FARRIS: Snub over injury

My grandson fell and hit his head on a brick fireplace on a Sunday afternoon. His parents took him to Mercy Emergency Room. The nurse told the doctor we have a toddler with a head injury who is throwing up. The doctor pooh poohed and said "oh, kids always throw up when they hit their head" and walked away.

My daughter and son-in-law were told that the ER wanted to "observe" my grandson for three hours. Two hours into it, no one had looked at my grandson. The place was crowded, but not one person looked like they had any kind of emergency.

Is it an emergency room or a convenience room for those who don't have time to go to a regular doctor for a cold? Mercy, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
