How do we keep the students safe who attend our schools around the nation?
First, our schools need a metal detector to screen students and any adults who enter the school grounds. After leaving the metal detector, individuals will need to walk several feet before entering the gate of the school.
If for any reason the alarm is heard, a gate or bulletproof door should swiftly shut, thus stopping the person from entering the grounds of the school. The metal detector will be enclosed within a building.
With some schools, they may have to provide an entrance building which houses a metal detector.
The tragedy which took place in Connecticut could have been prevented with a metal detector. Family members who enter the school will have to go under the same scrutiny as students.
Why should we install metal detectors?
Last year 11 tragedies occurred in our nation's school systems. Twenty-six stabbings with a knife in one Florida school occurred. Knives are treacherous, too.
Adam Lanza was a dangerous person and mentally handicapped. He took his mother's guns to do evil by murdering innocent lives.
By installing a metal detector, horrendous crimes would be lowered or completely stopped.
