Church gets new pastor

The Emmanuel Baptist Church of Livingston recently welcomed a new pastor, Calvin Hogue, 80, during a gathering at the church at 1310 Main St. in Merced.

Hogue has been a pastor at two other locations in the Merced area.

He was pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church on Yosemite Park Way from 1965 to 1968 and served as an associate pastor at the Christian Life Center on Olive Avenue during the 1970s.

Hogue also spent 15 years as a "church planter" for the International Mission Board, starting two churches in Australia and one in Köln, Germany.
