In the last couple of days, I have been hearing, and reading accounts of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. At this same time, I keep hearing the question:
We have now evolved a society wherein the makers of movies, video games and such not only promote mayhem, violence and even murder, but also appear to glorify such ideas. We have also allowed a segment of our society to succeed in outlawing the mention of God, the study of the respected Ten Commandments, and the saying of prayer, not only in our schools, but also at many public gatherings.
It is about time that we stop concerning ourselves with building all sorts of hospitals at the bottom of the cliff. Instead, start rebuilding at the top of the cliff the fence of honesty, respect, and a love for one's fellow man. It has been proven over and over that there has been no better set of rules ever designed than the Ten Commandments. I can't help wondering what our society would be like if all parents would read, understand and abide by Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4, and II Timothy 3:15.
