Around Town: Preschool participates in USDA food program

ATWATER -- Buhach Preschool participates in the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Care Food Program. 'A Christmas Carol' at Merced Theatre

The Merced Theatre will present a matinee of the 1938 version of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" at 2 p.m. Sunday, 301 W. Main St. Tickets are $5.

Church guest speaker to talk about 'Believing'

Unitarian Universalist Church will host a guest speaker, the Rev. Lucas Hergert, at 4 p.m. Sunday at 305 W. 26th St. The topic of the sermon will be "Beyond Believing and Not Believing."

January Fishbone show at Merced Theatre

The Merced Theatre, 301 W. Main St., will present Fishbone with Anthony B. Monkey and DJ Rasta on Saturday, Jan. 26. Tickets are $25.

Donations needed for Wayward Ponies

The group Wayward Ponies' Home will hold its fourth annual open house Feb. 18 and is in need of donations of new items or gift certificates for prizes and a loan of pop-up canopies in case of inclement weather. If you would like to donate, call (209) 742-6808 or go to www.waywardponies.org.
