Engelina Smith: Kids learn valuable lesson

I commend the Payne and Pineda families for having been able to teach their children such a valuable lesson at such a young age.

This is what the spirit of Christmas is all about, and they now know that there are children who may not have received gifts for Christmas, which most children take for granted.

For these young children to have been able to earn money to buy the gifts, and then to donate them to needy children, is certainly something that they will never forget.

It installed in them a sense of compassion and satisfaction.

The experience of giving taught them that it is indeed better to receive than to give, and they are that much more thankful for what they themselves have.
