The National Weather Service is predicting a pleasant start to the weekend in Sacramento, with a 30 percent chance of rain before 10 a.m. After that, expect partly cloudy skies and temperatures around 52 degrees.
It will be much of the same on Sunday, with patches of frost giving way to mostly sunny skies and temperatures of 52 degrees.
After that, things start to cool down just in time for the New Year's celebrations.
The high on Monday - New Year's Eve - is forecast at 49 degrees. That night, temperatures in Sacramento are expected to dip to 31 degrees.
The extended forecast after Monday looks like this:
Tuesday: Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 52.
Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.
Wednesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 53.
Wednesday Night: A slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
Thursday: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 53.
Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39.
Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 55.
