Fatal crash reported on Highway 152

- vpatton@mercedsun-star.com

LOS BANOS -- A 58-year-old Indiana woman was killed in a two-car collision Sunday morning on eastbound Highway 152 near Los Banos, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at 10:45 a.m. on the highway near Dinosaur Point.

Aptos resident Krista Brockman, 18, was driving a 2006 Volvo westbound on the highway at an unknown speed. No passengers were inside her car, according to Officer Matt Pinheiro.

For unknown reasons, Brockman lost control of her car. The Volvo traveled across the median, into to the eastbound lanes of the highway.

The Volvo crashed into a 2012 Toyota traveling eastbound on the highway.

Inside the Toyota were 33-year-old driver McKinley Tennyson and his wife Heaven Tennyson, 31, both of Los Angeles, Pinheiro said. Heaven Tennyson was in the front passenger seat.

Seated in the rear of the Toyota was the couple's son, 2-year-old Hezeki Tennyson, along with 58-year-old Marva Tennyson of Indiana.

Marva Tennyson sustained fatal injuries, according to the Merced County Coroner's Office. Heaven Tennyson and Brockman sustained major injuries and were flown to regional hospitals. McKinley Tennyson and the child both sustained minor injuries.

CHP said DUI is not a factor in the crash, and the cause remains under investigation.

McKinley Tennyson is a former professional soccer player. He played for the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2002 and the Portland Timbers in 2003, according to the website soccerdatabase.eu.
