Buhach's Cochran in Semper Fi game

- Sjansen@mercedsunstar.com

Aaron Cochran has spent his week competing against some of the top high school senior football players in the country.

The Buhach Colony senior is down south in Carson preparing for tonight's Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl at the Home Depot Center in Carson.

The 6-foot-8, 350-pound offensive lineman will suit up for the West team in a game that will be televised nationally on the NFL Network at 6 p.m.

Cochran's older brother, Matt, played in the game last year, announcing his college choice of Cal on national television at halftime.

Aaron won't do the same.

"No, he's still waiting to make that decision," said father Rod Cochran. "He wants to meet the staff at Cal and (Nebraska head coach) Bo Pelini is going to come out and visit. He wants to wait for those two meetings before announcing his decision."

Aaron has made official visits to Oklahoma, Nebraska and Arizona.

Fresno State's Tim DeRuyter and the Sooners' Bob Stoops have made recent home visits to the Cochran house.

The first day high school football players can sign national letters of intent is Feb. 6.
