The total number of nonmilitary firearms in the U.S. as of 2009 -- 310 million.
Having more guns, does not equate to enjoying or experiencing a safer society. If that myth were true ... America would be shouting to the world how to stop the injury, damage and death caused by guns.
Instead, America is known worldwide as the last country that should be giving any safety advice on preventing gun-inflicted trauma by advising other countries to add still more guns into their society.
