West Coast swing dance lessons are set

Atwater Christian Life Center revival ahead

The Atwater Christian Life Center will hold a Revival Service at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 10 a.m. Sunday at 1200 Shaffer Road. The speaker will be Duane Brookshier, pastor of Truth Tabernacle of Hemet.

Merced Symphony Pops Concert upcoming

The Merced Theatre, 301 W. Main St., will present a Merced Symphony Pops Concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25.

College workshops help workplace development

Merced College and the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce will offer professional development training workshops from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 24 and Jan. 31 at 630 W. 19th St. The cost is $23 and participants will earn a half-unit of college credit. Los Cazadores to play at Club Mercedes

Atwater VFW has many programs for veterans

The Atwater VFW Post 9946, 1390 Broadway, has been serving the needs of veterans and their families for more than 62 years and welcomes any veteran. The post serves veterans and the city through several programs, assisting veterans in receiving any benefits that are connected to their service. Call (209) 358-7724 for more information.

Animal lovers can help shelter, adopt critters

New Beginnings Merced, a local nonprofit group dedicated to saving shelter animals and finding them homes, needs volunteers. It's in serious need of people who can foster kittens for a few days, or take care of dogs and their puppies for a short time. Also needed are people to help take photos of shelter animals or help transport animals to rescue organizations. No personal vehicles are needed for transportation.
