Around Town: Elks Park breakfast

The Elks Park Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on Jan. 13 at the Elks Lodge on M Street. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children and include pancakes, eggs, sausage, fruit, OJ and coffee. Bloody Marys and Screw Drivers will also be available. All proceeds will support the Elks Park.

Parkinson's support

The Merced community is invited to attend the Parkinson's Support Group meeting at 10 a.m. Jan. 17 at 1450 E. 27th St. The speaker will be George R. Balliet, a Tai Chi instructor. For more information or to RSVP, call (209) 384-3300.

Museum holds training

The Merced County Courthouse Museum will hold its annual docent training from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 19 at the museum, 21st and N streets. Coffee and breakfast rolls will be provided. Please make a reservation by calling (209) 723-2401. Both new and returning docents are welcome.

Planning group to meet

Club plans music event

Club Mercedes and HD Entertainment will present the music group Los Cazadores de la Sierra Aguililla from 7 to 11 p.m. on Jan. 26 at 569 W. Ninth St. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door, and you must be 21 or older to attend. A no- host food and beverage bar will be available. Open house for ponies
