Work on highway ramp

MERCED -- The eastbound connector ramp from Highway 140 to Highway 99 near East Main Street in Merced is scheduled to stay closed through early May for roadwork.

The project is part of the $32.4 million Highway 99 East Merced Overhead Project, which started June 11. The work will replace the bridge decks on the 15th Street Undercrossing and the East Merced Overhead, according to Caltrans.

The work will improve the bridge widths and rails, allow for standard shoulder widths and upgrade guard rails, Caltrans said.
