In the '60s we had the war on poverty. Today, we have nearly 60 million people on food stamps, more than ever before, and no line in sight to end poverty. Do you remember the war on drugs? There is just as much of a drug problem today as ever. People are taking drugs at lower and lower ages.
This is how effective government is at fixing problems. The answer to violence in our society does not rest in the number of guns. It rests in the hearts of people. The government cannot change the hearts of people, so they do the only thing they can do. They tell us they're going to protect us by taking away our guns.
